Day 8 was pretty simple, we only had 1/2 day’s time so movement was kept within the city, a few stops away from Ximending. Checked out at 10am and headed out to 龙山寺, just 1 stop away from Ximending. That’s where mummy did her last minute shopping, buying so many tops. Passed by that same cheongsam shop 2 years ago and the aunties took some time to try clothes and did some CNY shopping.
Then while they went to do their hair, we took a walk around the area to search for breakfast, actually brunch by then and took a long walk to Carrefour in search of Jen’s fermented beancurd. But it turned out to be a wasted effort, oh well, treat it as a morning walk to burn some calories. Don’t ask me where is it, I don’t know. haha, we just saw a BIG banner across the road from the temple and just started walking in the direction and asking around as we trotted forth.
Because of that, we headed to Taipei Main Station to check out the supermarket in Xinguang San Yue (星光三越). Again to no avail, don’t know who tell me it’s EVERYWHERE, wah lau, it’s NOWHERE and I finally found it at the airport DFS. Kaoz haha. In the end we just had enough time for lunch at the food court there before heading back for our 3pm pickup to the airport. That concluded our short 8-days paradise journey 
Overall, it was an excellent trip, filled with lots of laughter, food and joy. Saw new things, new experiences, but also enjoyed some repeat except the all-familiar non-stop rain. Love the weather this time round minus the rain. Perhaps Jan / Feb might be a better time. I’m still looking forward to counting down in Taipei someday.
Taiwan is a place we should go in a big big group, to be able to enjoy as much food as possible with the least impact on weight gain haha
Air ticket, Insurance & Accomm/Tour : S$1,313.45 (Mum’s share) + $1,043.45 (mine, with some savings with redemption of my miles for my ticket) = S$2,356.90 [actually the package deal of S$705 for 7 nights hotel + airport transfers + 4D tour in between on private coach with guide is pretty cheap lar]
Common fund (spent on food, transport and joint activities) : S$261.80 x 2 (including Yang mama)
Personal spending (Souvenirs and others; including Mum’s) : S$1,209.20
Total : S$4,089.70
Not too bad for 2 persons lar, on an action-packed 8 days. It’s already less than I expected. There were also several firsts on this trip:
1. First time on a plane-trip with Dear
2. First time traveling in such a big group on F&E
3. First time preparing currency conversion charts, laminated somemore, but didn’t really make full use of it haha
4. First time to Yilan & Taichung
5. First time releasing and watching fireworks live!
6. First time sitting at the emergency exit, facing the SQ girls during landing and take-off with the in-flight system monitor and tray coming out from the side
7. First time bumping into a co-worker at the airport (met one of the EDB girls at the transit area on the flight back, turns out she was there the exact same week we were there, can’t shake off WCS! Haunting!)
That’s enough first times for 1 trip isn’t it? 
Can’t wait to go back to Taiwan again! And the next time, I hope the weather’s kinder to me
