UOB Saga – Part 3 (finale)

Ok problem resolved. Though it wasn’t the most ideal solution that i wanted, but seeing how the poor guy bothered to do stg despite me screaming at him earlier in the morning, i figured i shouldnt be too difficult..the year barely started, karma karma haha

Morning:

UOB: Gd Morning Ms Yeo, I am Rudi from UOB, I understand from my colleague you wanted to speak to the manager.

Me: Yes, so i assume you already know the history of the story. So tell me, what can you do?

UOB: i’m sorry ms yeo, there’s really nothing we can do. the 2 cards are very different and we have made it clearly in our welcome pack that the NOW card comes only with smart$

Me: You are the 3rd person i’m repeating this to. i did not apply for the card, you guys forced me to replace it because ur management wanted to phase out the old card. And guess what, i just received another replacement campus card yesterday, which means the card has not been phased out, which means i could have accumulated those pts. so i don’t know what’s wrong with your internal policies but it’s certainly not fair for me to lose out because of your internal indecisiveness

UOB: The card is an upgrade because at that time we decided to terminate the campus programme.

Me: Precisely my pt. Upgrade means keeping everything in the old system + more. if you change everything and put in new things, it’s NOT an upgrade. and i dunno why i have to keep repeating this, i DID NOT apply for this card, i did not write in to terminate my old Campus card. You guys forced the replacement upon me and i have to bear to loses? that’s not logical and certainly not fair at all.

UOB: i’m sorry but there’s really nothing we can do. the 2 systems are different and the amounts have been charged to the NOW card we cannot put the pts into the campus card.

Me: If you cannot do that, then get your superior to talk to me.

UOB: I’m the senior manager of the department

Me: Are you the highest in rank there?

UOB: No

Me: Yes, so get the next person in line to call me. Thank you, bye.

then i hung up on him haha and this happened in office. the moment i hung up, my colleagues were like "wah lau u damn bitch leh" haja oh well….haha

then while i was waiting for "the next person in line" to call me and also for someone in the marketing dept to reply to my email, i received another call in the evening.

UOB: Gd evening Ms Yeo, this is Rudi again

Me: Yes Rudi.

UOB: Ms Yeo we have reviewed your case again. I’m really sorry we cannot credit the uni$ back as it’s a system restriction (side note: i so don’t believe that crap but oh well) but i have done a calculation on the amount that you have charged to the NOW card, which will convert to approx 600 UNI$ which can then redeem for a $10 Jack’s Place Voucher. If you don’t mind can we please arrange that for you instead?

Me: My Campus account is still there right? since you guys reinstated the programme, so i don’t see why you cant put the pts back there

UOB: Ms Yeo, the charges are charged into the NOW card system so we really can’t put the pts into UNI$

Me: Ok fine. Although this is not the most ideal solution i would have wanted but i see the effort that you put in which i do appreciate. so fine, i’ll accept the voucher.

UOB: Thank you. i’ll make arrangements for the voucher to be sent to you within 2 wks.

Me: Ok thank you.

so that’s the end of the drama. but the email was already sent before this guy called, so i don’t know if the person there would do anything but i have no intentions of recalling the email haha so we shall see…
